Wow – that was really uncalled for. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion and if you dont agree, like she did, then you are in the wrong. She is obviously trained and practiced for her pageant. No one took offense with what she said – people were mad at her for saying it. And telling someone how they should be feeling about the pageant is not an appropriate comment.

So what exactly is your point? If you don’t like what she said, you are mad at her for saying it, and you find her uncalled for for saying it? That doesn’t make any sense.

-People were offended by her saying something? What about the people who were offended by the derogatory comments and language surrounding the burlesque? They weren’t. Why not make it an equal playing field?

Exactly. She’s a 16 year old. She’s an actress. She should be able to express herself. I don’t think it’s uncalled for in any way, shape, or form. It’s true that she didn’t apologize directly for her language. But her point was that, she was tired of the whole pageant and didn’t appreciate what she was doing.

So that’s a perfectly valid point. She didn’t make it in a derogatory way. So what? It’s not “uncalled for” if it’s a valid point. This is what I’ve been saying all along.

-What’s the difference between a pageant and a burlesque? Aside from the words.

Exactly. So if her point is valid, then it’s valid for burlesque as well. This is basically the same issue.

-Even if her point was “poor training”, it was still uncalled for and degrading.

And so? It’s not degrading, because it’s her point of view, and not directed at the burlesque. And why is it uncalled for? Because she didn’t say it in a nice way? That’s ridiculous.

-She has a right to be a diva, and it’s her job to express herself…

Before Miss Universe 1997, she was Miss India World 1994. In 2005, she was crowned as Miss India at Celebrity Weddings, which was held in February in Delhi. In 2006, she participated in the Splice India beauty pageant, where she finished in 2nd place.
During the following year, she was crowned as Miss India World 2007, and entered the Miss World pageant. She then became one of the top ten contestants who competed in the finals.
