Ok, so, going to play around with this, but I’m assuming you’re using IO.FileSystemWatcher if you want to catch changes in a file. You are right, you need to include a case-insensitive comparer if you want to detect case-sensitive changes, but there’s a couple of gotcha’s.
You can’t do an equals with a case-insensitive comparer. Try this:

When using a case-insensitive comparer, the only way to tell if you’ve changed the file is to compare the current value of the file to what you stored in the previous iteration. It’s kind of a pain, so your best bet might be to include the previous file’s contents as part of your event args or another field of the event args.
This is probably the largest gotcha, though, so do your homework before implementing anything.
