The goal is to have a multiline EditText that can input a text with dynamic line wrap, and when the user presses Enter, the EditText should shift the layout to show the new text.
I have a TextView that get’s updated upon receiving new data from a server, so as long as the EditText is empty, it works fine. The setText() function keeps the layout and updates the text.
However, when the user presses Enter, I encounter an UnsupportedOperationException

Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

The solution is to use setSelection() instead of setText(). That way the layout shift works as expected.
