The present invention relates to a character information display apparatus used in an electronic blackboard, a personal computer, an electronic typewriter, a television, and so on.
2. Description of the Related Art
In a conventional character information display apparatus of this kind, for example, there is an apparatus in which, when a plurality of types of character data are successively outputted by an output device, they are stored in a memory, and the character data which are successively stored in the memory are sequentially written in a memory device of a display device through the interposition of an address conversion means, a character designating means, and a display controlling means. Such a character information display apparatus is disclosed, for example, in Japanese Patent Publication No. Hei. 5-32121.
In the above conventional character information display apparatus, however, it is difficult to simultaneously display a plurality of types of character data which are outputted by the output device, and therefore, a display operation is not necessarily efficient.
An object of the present invention is to provide a character information display apparatus which is capable of simultaneously displaying a plurality of types of character data which are outputted by an output device, as well as improving the display operation.
To attain this object, according to the present invention, there is provided a character information display apparatus, comprising:
an output means for outputting character data;
a memory means for storing the character data outputted by the output means;
an address converting means for outputting an address in the memory means to a display device;
a character designating means for designating a character to be displayed;
a display controlling means for controlling a display means;
an address counter for counting an address in the memory means;
a designation accepting means for accepting the designation of the character by the character designating means; and
a display determining means for determining the display condition of the display means based on an address in the memory means, the character designating means, and the designation accepting means,
wherein the display controlling means controls the display means based on a determination result of the display determining means.
