Need backstory? Who needs resource-gathering? Diplomacy is so last year. Gratuitous Space Battles cuts right to the chase of sci-fi strategy games, and deals with large, completely unjustified space battles between huge opposing space fleets.
Gratuitous Space Battles combines the visual appeal of an RTS, with the addictive unit-placement and design gameplay from tower defense games. In GSB, the player does not control individual ships at all during battle. The ships fight to a pre-determined set of orders and formations given to them by you before the battles.
GSB casts you as supreme space admiral, tasked with the design of individual spaceships, and the composition of your fleet, as well as general orders of engagement. This is not a twitch-based real time arcade game like many an RTS, but a game of careful thought, planning and big-picture strategy. Huge space battles can be won or lost depending on just how cleverly you balanced the needs of defensive shielding and armor against the expensive punch of laser cannons and plasma torpedoes.
GSB also features an innovative multiplayer challenge system. You can upload your ultimate fleet to serve as the enemy to other players, and keep track of how many other players have won and lost against your challenge. That way, you will never run out of cunningly designed enemies to battle against!

Frustrated by the constant harassment of a single player, I’ve always pretty much looked down on Gratuitous Space Battles games, so I was really happy to see how well this looked in the screenshots. Now that I’ve tried it, I’m less than impressed.

Try reading the Wirja and MP map tutorial, that should ease your into the game a lot.
I wouldnt know where to start as Ive barely played the game, I think the two things I want to know/learn how to play are…
– getting in and out of the really small rooms. In most lans every room you need to go into has a ledge and a wall that you would have to move out of and pretty much jump over and crouch up but Wirja (or murphy) said not to jump over the ledge and that if there is a wall the jump over the sides, would that be right?
– attacking people, so far im just using the punch code, whenever i see an enemy can someone tell me what to do to subdue em?

The game comes in many forms. While the Steambot (MP) is a good place to start as the controls are deceptively simple. Wirja’s Steambot trainer doesn’t work for MP4, only MP3. The other main form is the editor, which is quite useful for reference as well as playing MP games. Each of them, for whatever reason, have steps “instructing” on how to do the codes.
First to figure out how to manually step through the codes. Try to download a game that you’ve never played before, more complex, and level is at least 75 to 80. The trick to having success is to be ready to know what to do, and be willing to do it. Realize that copying an enemies codes is essentially cheating.
The only suggestion I can make is to pay attention to the player animations. In a team game, players will run their character when enemy
