Unlike previous games in the series, VX Ace: High Fantasy: The Deep does not utilize sprites. Instead, it uses 3D models to depict the game. The game is set in a fictional land known as The Deep, which is divided into three different countries, each with a different culture and people. The game features the addition of 3D backgrounds and over 20 3D monsters to the series.

As The Deep is currently embroiled in a war, its economy is nearly destroyed. Most businesses have closed, and citizens are struggling to survive. However, The Deep recently obtained a valuable mine which contains endless quantities of ore. It was exported to another country, causing the prices of gold and gems to skyrocket. The new mines were built in close proximity to a mountain, called The Deep’s Peak, and a strange entity, called The Dark One, was discovered in the caves beneath the mountain. The Dark One began terrorizing the land, and the people who live there have been held hostage to the evil entity.

The citizens live in constant fear of The Dark One, and a group of mercenaries led by a famous warrior named Garsk were hired to take the Dark One down. Garsk’s mercenaries have nothing to lose, and are willing to do anything to wage war on The Dark One, even if it means doing damage to the innocent people around them. Together with the monsters that call The Deep their home, they go against The Dark One.

Atlas Bridge began developing RPG Maker VX Ace – High Fantasy: The Deep around September 2004, under the name “Amigo World 1” and “Amigo World 2”, like their previous projects. The game was officially announced in 2006. When it was published, it was distributed by W-k.o. and was released with a large amount of extras, as well as the inclusion of role-playing video game maker, AMIT.

Welcome to the town of Firenze, Tennessee.
