Every time one of the tiles is flipped over, its content changes – what was the inside of the tile is revealed on the outside. The player can capture all the pieces, flip them, evade them or trade them with the other players. Through this, the game unfolds depending on the player’s tactics.
In battle, the player can attack other players with his opponents’ pieces, collect pieces from the battlefield and use them to fight with his opponents and make the battlefield more suitable for his team.

A Fantasy Grounds errand is a journey into the world of a Dungeons and Dragons-style tabletop RPG, where the players engage in plot advancement by means of a specific task or series of related tasks, with the challenge of the adventure in question representing the sum total of these tasks. The “Adventure Point System” of “Dungeons and Dragons” and the underlying “Quest Point System” of “Wizards of the Coast” are pretty much standard fare in this genre.

Q. What is the difference between an errand and an adventure?

In “Dungeons and Dragons” and “Wizards of the Coast” adventures are usually self contained. The party does one thing at a time, the players narrate what happens and play out the outcomes of the actions of the NPCs and monsters. Most of the adventuring is hidden from view and the players will only know about the proceedings through what the GM tells them about what is going on. If the encounter is a battle, then the players will only hear about it and see it at the moment it happens.

An errand on the other hand is usually more of a service of some kind where there is nothing happening at any one time; for example if the players are searching for a rare plant in a field of flowers. Only at certain times will the other players notice the presence of the adventurers, but there is no progress recorded on the adventure track. Yet, all this time, the adventure is of interest to the party, because it brings them into contact with a variety of NPCs and monsters.

Q. Can I use my own NPCs and monsters in my adventures?

You are free to use any DnD or D20R character from a published book in this game so long as they meet the pre-defined prerequisites. In other words, DnD6, Vampire, Pathfinder, or D20R monsters are welcome. The GM is free to change a monster into a different subclass.
