Darkstalkers is the name of the series and the RPG follows it’s story which was backed up by the games in the series. For Darkstalkers 1-2 on the SNES, Capcom put out a couple of side stories to play along with the main campaign. The three games mainly focus on the events after the ending of the first game which focused on Morrigan’s story after defeating Gillian. The story revolves around Spawn and Morrigan battling against the new series of Darkstalkers as they try to stop Morrigan from taking over New York. The first game takes place right after Morrigan attacks New York which resulted in most of the game’s NPCs fighting for survival. The second game takes place while Morrigan’s body has been stolen by Diablo in order to allow his own child (Spawn) to rise in power. The plot can get a little convoluted but the games themselves are fun. The third game in the series, Darkstalkers 4, takes place after the events of the second game but before the events of the third game.

The Story Behind Darkstalkers 3 and 4
The story behind Darkstalkers 3 and 4 are much different than the first two games in the series. They follow Morrigan’s journey of finding her body after losing it during the events of Darkstalkers 2 and of course Diablo’s efforts to find a way to continue life without Morrigan. The plot of Darkstalkers 3 builds off of the end of Darkstalkers 2 and Darkstalkers 4 builds off of the events of Darkstalkers 3. The story can get a little convoluted at times but the games themselves were fun.

The Unique Controls
When I reviewed Darkstalkers 3 and 4 I gave both games positive reviews but cautioned that the game would be difficult for those new to the genre. Although you don’t need to be new to the genre to enjoy the game you will need to be a bit patient and willing to take some hits to win matches. The new berserker game play is very different from the Street Fighter series. You now move with the WASD keys
