The bridge builder from the top-down. Build bridges, and help fill in as much empty space as possible to make higher. Feel free to experiment with your construction by adding and moving blocks from your inventory, but keep in mind: bridges are very heavy, and there’s no way to carry them.

One note: the game doesn’t let you save, but it does let you save in the editor. So feel free to pause, ctrl+z the video and save your work to edit it back in later, when you get a chance.

Devlog
23 July: Adding another top-down bridge builder. This one is all about crossing water (and making arches).
20 July: I’m back, and the game is done. Also, thanks to the help of the beta-testers, I have made the instructions to the game much more thorough.
14 July: The game is now finished, and I hope you like it! I have tested it thoroughly for bugs, and there aren’t any left. Just be aware that the instructions have not been completed yet, so be a little patient, and you won’t miss out on anything.

UPDATE 1:30pm PST:
I received a few email messages saying the game looked too nice.
So I quickly made a ‘Noise Reducer’ option, which turns off everything but the basic sounds. If you would rather listen to my fan-boy rant about how I am completely obsessed with The King’s Road series or how I don’t care about Shiny Things, go ahead and turn on the noise reducer.

If you turn on the noise reducer, you will also turn off the musical score.
You don’t have to turn it on, so don’t feel guilty. I promise.

Thanks to the great feedback, I have finally made a version of the game that runs on computers with Unity 4.6. You can find it here:

In Savage: The Shard of Gosen, the mighty capital city of Gosen and its neighboring settlements have fallen to abject ruin – an aftermath of a vicious civil war… but now the gates of madness have opened and an army of madmen and monsters are pouring in. What Will You Discover?
As mentioned before, Savage – The Shard of Gosen is a role playing game with heavy emphasis on tactical combat.

Like many role playing games, it is a deeply immersive simulation. You will need to keep track of your equipment, food, fuel, etc. for the duration of your journey, and will need to take a break from battle to rest, eat and recover your strength.

The breadth of features and depth of content is staggering. It is a comprehensive simulation of medieval fantasy, with a soundtrack worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster and visually stunning graphics.

Role Playing Game – The most important feature of Savage – The Shard of Gosen is the combat system.

Your journey will take you into a randomized, procedurally generated world. The environment will affect what you meet and what challenges you encounter. As you progress, you will be learning new skills and abilities and discovering an ever-changing world.

Strategy Game – Battle is important, but is just one part of the package in Savage.

You will be facing a variety of enemies. You will be at your best when you have the time to plan your moves and you can utilize your equipment to reach various tactical situations.

Combat System – The combat system has you both defending and attacking, with a focus on positional and skill based combat.
