Shapiro, who got his sports broadcasting start in Cleveland, is best known for the role he played in formulating the trade that brought the Cubs World Series veteran Kris Bryant from the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2015. He signed a one-year deal to return as the chief baseball decision maker earlier this month.

Shapiro is well versed in either major league team, having scouted the Pirates in addition to scouting for the Philadelphia Phillies and going to work in London for the MLB Europe staff.

RUSH, that is The Elder Wand: Game of the Year 2016. It’s a “meh” finish. The main exception is that it’s a fun, fun game to play online with online coop, that’s a nice touch that you can’t really do with the various real-time multiplayer games. The main thing I like about this game is that all the baddies seem to present a challenge to get through, or at least some level of customization of the baddies (even if they’re all mostly the same character).

The parts that weren’t a fan of this was that the online coop got kind of disjointed from 1 player to 2 players, and that, as nice as the music is, the voice acting is often… well, not bad, but it doesn’t really fit the tone of the game. Honestly, none of the voice acting for any of the characters made my skin crawl or made me want to punch something. Not that they were particularly bad, but they kind of distracted you from the dialogue with the voices.

The one thing that just made me want to poke my eyes out, though, is that the game has five weapons. Seriously, five weapons? Two of them are not even uncommon weapons. To be fair, probably in half the battles you do have a chance of getting a weapon from your opponent. But not weapons that are interesting or fun to use, like the weapon based on stats, which is my favourite weapon of the game by a wide margin. Even if you can only get the weapon once or twice, you can’t get that weapon, and don’t want to get that weapon, all the time. Like in a real-time multiplayer game, it’d be nice to have something different in your arsenal, something different to change things up. I suppose one reason for the five weapons is that they go from going to be more fragile than the others, to two of them being a close to a tank. You can’t quite get some of those weapons if you fall in battle, though, which is kind of a bummer.

It’s a great game, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, but it was a little disappointing not having more, a little more variety in weapon. Even a weapon based on stats, but just for variety’s sake. Just a couple different weapons really like, say, a
