Wonderful and impressive game. Just tried it out on an old system that lacked a lot of memory, but it worked. The load screen is sometimes a bit slow, but that’s to be expected on that ancient system.

EDIT: Absolutely no problems with the steam version, which is something I thought I’d find while doing reviews.

I’ve played the game a bit more now, but there are still things I haven’t touched on.

1. Story.

Game has a nice story line, and the voice acting is good. The only thing I didn’t like is the dialogues between your party members. If you don’t want your party members to hear what the other members of your party are saying, you should have given them another option, e.g. questions. I played this as a serious game, so when it’s spoken I want the voice actor to talk to me, not to the character in front of me. This is rather annoying with characters that are sitting right next to me.

2. Game play.

The game was well put together. The controls are easy, you just need to have some common sense. The game is rather easy to control, I just hoped that there would be more difficulty settings, but they aren’t there. The game has an auto save function, and its automatic when you die. There aren’t any difficulty settings or pause, so you have to time your saves carefully.

3. Graphics.

I’m not a big fan of graphic settings in games, so I didn’t mess with them. Some might find the texturing to be a bit too smooth, but I find it very pleasing. The character’s animations are also nice, I haven’t seen anything similar to it before.

4. Sound.

Sound isn’t a huge part of this game, so I didn’t even try to explore it. All I can say is that the sound effects are clear, there are a lot of them, but nothing is too repeated and annoying.

5. Equipment.

You start with an equipment set that includes a sword, staff and armor. As you progress through the game, you gain new items. It’s a nice, and simple way to make the equipment progression linear.

You can use Home-brewed items, obtained from salvaged armor and gear, as well as items crafted in the Alchemy shop. There are a variety of weapons, armor, and magic. As you clear the stages of the Colosseum, you can use Home-brewed items to obtain stronger equipment, which then allows you to more easily clear the stages.
