A 3D bezier curve is a vector curve that connects four points. If the control points of a bezier curve are given a fixed order, then the curve will be closed, forming a loop. If the order is changed, then the curve will be open, forming a line. If the positions of the points are changed, the loop or line will be broken. The method of curve control is based on two main bezier curves: the “inner” and the “outer” bezier curve, which are contained in the same path.
The inner bezier curve passes through all the control points for a given curve, whereas the outer bezier curve passes through the first and last control points. The outer bezier curve is useful for generating curves with closed loops. It is possible to control the inner and outer bezier curves and their relationship to one another separately.
To use the program, define the position of the first control point C1 and the angle of the first control point line C1. Connect the first control point and the second control point. Use the second control point to close the first control point line. The C1 and C2 control point lines form the inner bezier curve that contains all the data points for this curve.
Now, connect the third control point and the fourth control point, using the angle data of the third control point line to control the angle between the lines and construct the inner bezier curve. The inner bezier curve now connects the two middle control points.
Next, connect the inner bezier curve to the first control point, closing the loop, but leave the last control point line open.
