As used herein, the term “thiocyanate” or “thioamide” refers to an ion combination of a sulfur-containing (atomic number 9) atom bonded to a nitrogen-containing (atomic number 7) atom, where the nitrogen atom is bonded to one or more carbon atoms. The sulfur atom may be in the form of a thiolate ligand or a thioamide ligand. The symbol “M” signifies that the group attached to “M” is bonded to the sulfur atom. Thus, it is the copper ion complexed with the sulfur atom, rather than the sulfur atom itself, that is conventionally referred to as the thiocyanate or thioamide.
