The other specific word that I’d like to address is the word “event” that you wrote in your question. You can use event everywhere. People use event all the time to specify and bind a listener to an event.
I don’t know what you mean by “what’s the point of assigning an eventListener” as this is a valid question that you could ask about any programming paradigm. The same applies to lots of other programming constructs. What is the point? What is the benefit? What are some use cases?
In any case, when you apply an event on an element (or a document), JS adds a listener to the element to respond to that event. So then if you have the following code:
