Developing Photoshop Styles

Photoshop provides a handy way to organize and save your favorite styles. In the New Document window, go to File New and choose Photoshop Styles (see Figure 4-6).

You may notice a small icon in the bottom-right corner of the New Document window’s bottom bar (as shown in Figure 4-7). Choose that icon to view a message that tells you about styles in general.

Note that some of the stuff you may find in a Photoshop styles folder may be in a different location, depending on your operating system.

Photoshop styles act as templates for your new projects. Whenever you create a new document, Photoshop automatically creates a new style. You can create a style by clicking the down arrow next to the New Document name (and creating a new document) and choosing New Photoshop Style. (One other way to get to this menu is to go to File New. This option is under the Photoshop menu when you open a document — not necessarily when you create a new one.)

Although using presets for when you work is a good idea, don’t use the automatic options in the styles that come with Photoshop (found in the Other Styles folder). First, you need to create a new document. This is similar to creating a new file in any other application. Most of the time, you have the Open dialog box open and are ready to save a new document. (If this is not the case, your New Document window is likely still open, and you should be able to find and create a new document by choosing File New.)

“In the world today, so many people are dishonest. We see it all over the world,” said Teemu Ojala, the founder of Flyp.me. “Trust is the most valuable asset, and we’re here to help create a better world.”

The team, which includes Ojala and the company’s CEO, Olli Rantanen, tried to replicate the honesty experiment, showing a man on the street in New York if someone would lie to them if it would benefit their wallet. They found that people were 8.3 times more likely to lie if it wouldn’t benefit them.

As the creator of the blockchain network, Flyp.me manages the creation and use of its cryptographic currency, called Flyp, through a system that meets its own criteria for self-regulation. Because of this, Flyp can pay for flyp.me-only promotional content and marketing for social media companies and mobile games.
