The best way to learn Photoshop is to have somebody show you. A class in your area may be your best option. You can find several teacher-training courses on DVD, using a combination of instructor commentary and video. You can also get online help from the many free tutorials available. Photoshop includes so many creative tools that an exhaustive review of them all isn’t practical. Instead, we focus on the common tasks you do with most images — retouching and adding special effects — and we highlight the most important tools in the process.

Photoshop Elements

Adobe had a previously failed attempt at a consumer-oriented program called Flash (for Flexible Graphics Operating System). Adobe cut its losses, starting a new program, Premiere Elements. In this book, we introduce Photoshop Elements.

Saving your images

Elements is a free program that you can download by visiting `www.adobe.com`; see the sidebar “Photoshop freebies” for more information. The program enables you to open files in Photoshop (CS2 and earlier) or Photoshop Elements (CS4 and later), create new files, save files as Photoshop images, and export files to other applications and the Web. You can also make backups of your files using Elements.

You can access the program’s features through the Bridge window, accessed from the Home page by clicking the Browse button, as shown in Figure 14-1. (Click the Adobe logo in the top-left corner to open a drop-down menu that lists the different types of files supported by Elements, such as photos, graphics, and web images.)

Photoshop is a very complex program in itself, but other users and designers have developed the use of Photoshop in the future and you can easily copy and paste web/Photoshop techniques.

This tutorial focuses on the most important aspects of using Photoshop and Elements to make images and web graphics.

1. Adding Text to Your Images

Adding a text element to your image is one of the most common tasks in the graphics and web design fields.

It is best to add the text element in the foreground, but if you want to place it in the background of your image, you can use the following commands. To move an element on the layer, just hold the Alt key while clicking on the element and dragging it on the canvas.

You can also add text to your image by dragging an image with text onto the image canvas. The text will then appear over top of the previous image.

2. Using Layer Mask

Layer masks are the most basic element that Photoshop offers. The layer mask is represented as a white square, that you can select. You can change the size of the square using the Rectangular Mask Tool () in the toolbox. Once you have selected a mask, you can use the Brush, Pencil, Eraser or Gradient Tools (or Eraser Tool) to create a white circle shape and paint around your mask.

A Layer Mask works by selectively revealing and hiding parts of your image.

Tip: You can use the Quick Mask feature by pressing Q on your keyboard to create a masked layer. In the Layers Palette, click on the layer mask to reveal the masked layer. To deselect the layer, click on the eye icon.

You can easily create a mask using the Rectangular Mask Tool () that is already present in Photoshop.

Tip: You can use the Eraser Tool () to create a new layer over your masked layer, so you can erase over your layer without losing the mask shape.

To investigate the isolation and culture of human keratinocyte cells and their application in repair and regenerate of burn wounds, skin regeneration, and other new fields. We isolated and cultured human keratinocyte cells of epidermal origin, evaluated morphological changes, and explored the role of U0126 in the regulation of proliferation, morphologic characteristics and cell migration of human keratinocytes. A simple method for isolation and culture of human keratinocyte cells from normal skin was established by priming with dispase for 24-hour and fibronectin for 24 to 48 hour. The morphology of subcultured keratinocytes was semi-typical, and the cells grew to form a monolayer, in which they had a process of stratification like a differentiation. In addition, the experiment showed that the morphological transition of keratinocyte cells could be blocked by U0126 at the concentration of 10 microg/ml. The results of migration test showed that U0126 (10 microg/ml) could inhibit the migration of keratinocyte cells obviously. This technique could provide a simple method for isolation and culture of human keratinocyte cells from normal skin. It could also be a new technique for repair and regenerate of burn wounds, skin regeneration, and other new fields.Q:

How can I get, or what parameters can I use in my django app to send email without using any other web application’s email sending capabilities?

No you can’t. A web app should strictly stay within the constraints of the browser’s API. Otherwise you’re in for a lot of trouble, particularly if you make a mistake. For example, you’re going to need to send a bunch of headers and send the content as multipart/alternative if you want to send an attachment (not allowed in a GET request).
