Difficulty creating a hash of all keywords in a document

I’m trying to iterate over each word in the document ‘test’ and have it create a hash of each word so that it can be used later. But for some reason I’m having issues:
I’m using Dir[File.dirname(__FILE__) + “/#{Rails.root}/public/system/tasks/*.txt”].map{ |f| File.read(f).to_s }

What I’m trying to create is like so:
$H={‘print’=>false, ‘hello’=>false, ‘world’=>false}

What I’m currently getting is:
$H = {
‘print’ => false,
‘hello’ => false,
