We observed a two-fold increase in the risk of moderate and severe PIH in pregnancies ending in a partial birth (OR=2.30; 95% CI: 1.50-3.50). Our results support the association between partial gestation and PIH in the Brazilian national population. The physiologic mechanisms behind this association are not yet well established.
