“Our findings add to the evidence that, in older adults, higher cardiorespiratory fitness is associated with a lower risk of diabetes and further suggest that increasing physical activity alone or physical activity combined with cardiorespiratory fitness may lead to reductions in diabetes, even among adults with normal body mass index,” said Dr. Peters.
