KRTFs show distant homology to the C2H2 zinc finger superfamily, and can be grouped into 2 subfamilies based on structural features. The large subfamily includes KRTF1 and 2, which are typical KRAB-ZFPs, and KRTF7, 8 and 9 that are characterised by a KN motif and a C-terminal extension. KRTF2, 1 and 7 are characterised by a single ZF-C(2) domain. The evolutionary origin of the KRAB-ZFPs from an ancestral ZF-C(2) domain, and the KRTFs from a KN ZF-C(2), are discussed. We propose that a single ancestral gene gave rise to the KRAB-ZFPs, KRTF2, 1 and 7; KRTF5, 8 and 9; and the KRTFs in other species. The defendant moves for an appointment of counsel on appeal from the district court’s judgment of conviction of bank robbery, in violation of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2113(a). The appeal has been referred to a panel of the court pursuant to Rule 9(a), Rules of the Sixth Circuit. After an examination of the record and defendant’s informal brief, the panel agrees unanimously that oral argument is not needed. Rule 34(a), Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure.

Upon review of the record, we find that the district court did not commit error in sentencing the defendant. The sentence, which is within the guideline range of 24 to 31 months imprisonment, does not shock the judicial conscience, nor does it violate the proportionality requirement of sentences.
