After a brief period, the company developed a small computer called the PLANET which could draw 3D graphics and was equipped with a 9-inch cathode ray tube. In 1962, Kroeber, Rohrbach and Landel founded ADM-300, an MIT spinoff company, which released KOPEN, a mechanical drafting system based on the Kroeber-Rohrbach concepts.
Kroeber, who developed an interest in robotics and machine intelligence early in his career, went on to work at the U.S. Army’s Lincoln Laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1968 to 1970. In 1968, he and a few friends started work on the LARC system.

How to combine mongodb and cassandra as same app backend?
I have two data store options in my mind:
MongoDB as my primary data store (read mostly, write once or in rare cases write a large number of changes that are grouped together).
Cassandra as secondary data store. (write very large number of changes and it’s not always clear if they are grouped and have higher chances of conflicts/data loss when operating on the same field).
I’m looking for a way to use both of them as secondary/primary (under user control). I think it will be as easy as creating a mongo replica set in the case of a primary or moving all data to cassandra in the case of a secondary.
I’m interested in knowing what’s the best approach to do it?
Is cassandra a good choice for this kind of environment?

If you mean by “data store” a single datastore, then you would indeed be using two data stores at the same time.
At the data modeling stage, I would model my MongoDB data store as read-mostly and Cassandra as read-mostly. That would be the best option, as you would not want to have a write and a read of the same data. Then once the data model is established, it will be easier to plan for scaling either data store.
In my case, because my MongoDB data store was read-mostly, I opted to scale it out by having it in the cloud, instead of having it on my own server. You can use CloudStack for this, which gives you a virtualization layer. It is also how I manage my MySQL databases, which you mentioned in a comment
