Byrne, both Democrats, in their respective races for reelection in 1937. Thus, the club helped to shape the New Jersey political landscape, both through benevolent contributions and in the private sectors of its organization. The Executive Committee was composed exclusively of members of the Club, and the club’s charter forbade its membership from affiliating with any other organizations.
