A visual treat for the eyes. The Art of Halcyon: Lightspeed Edition is a 49 page art book containing concept art, pre-production art, and a whole lotta pixel art goodness from the Halcyon 6 game.
Encompassing a variety of artwork from various styles, from traditional painterly techniques to my more original digital style, all presented beautifully in full colour. These images are taken from the game itself, portraying the universe created by Nathan Edinpura and, from a gameplay perspective, provide a comprehensive look into how the game plays.
You are a space wormhole traveler, humanity’s last hope and probably, quite probably, the universe’s most wanted fugitive. But there are others out there with their own agenda…Special Offer: Buy the game, or the artbook, and you can take away a print of your very own piece of the Halcyon universe.

SO I KNOW I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS GAME FOR A LONG TIME, AND I’M REALLY EXCITED TO FINALLY GET TO PLAY IT. BUT WHAT IS HALCYON 6? IT’S A SPACEWORLD YOU PLAY AS A RACCOON WITH POSSIBLE SPLIT PERSONALITY SLEEP DEVICE. I FIGURED IT WAS A LOT OF WILD FANCINESS. WHEN I RAN MY GAME ACROSS THE MEATBALLS TO SEE HOW IT WAS DOING I FOUND OUT THAT OTHER PEOPLE WERE A LOT MORE INTERESTED IN THE STORY THAN IN THE GAME, WHICH I REALLY LIKE. THE GAME IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS, AND ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE STORY IS EVEN IN PLACE YET, SO I WOULD HOPE YOU WOULD CHECK BACK TO SEE THE END PRODUCT, WHICH CERTAINLY LOOKS AWESOME. NOPE. YOU CAN’T. ALRIGHT JESSICA. YOU CAN’T, BUT I’M GONNA. SO HERE I AM GONNA SHOW YOU ANOTHER SET OF ILLUSTRATIONS I MADE WHILE HAVING A LITTLE TALK WITH YOU ABOUT THE CONTENT OF THE BOOK. BECAUSE I ALSO WERE TO BE A HUMAN BEING AND NOT A TOTALLY DEAD WACKO I AM REALLY HERE FOR YOU, BUT I BET YOU MIGHT THINK I’M HOOKIN’ UP WITH A

We put some of our experienced players in groups of 4 and in groups of 2 on private lobbies, and it worked out perfectly. It is the first time we ran the tournament in groups of 4, and we’ve been experimenting with it for a while now.

We started with 4v4 matchmaking lobbies, and once the top 4 started, they were separated into 4v2 and 2v2, thus giving us more lobbies than 4v4 with only 4 players. It worked well, but then some of the groups began to feel neglected, and I also saw some lag spikes. So to solve those two problems, I decided to set up a “staggered schedule”, where we were always choosing 2v2 and 4v2 pairs of players.

    Staggered schedule

In those cases, players get randomly assigned to different teams. In other words, they will be paired with different players, some times 2 and 2, sometimes 4 and 4.

We tried it with 4v4 lobbies too, but we got really few players in those cases and the matches would take long. Still, I’m convinced it’s a very fun experience, and I’m looking forward to it.

I also tried it with 2v2 and 4v4, and for some reason it was working a lot better than I expected, so I’m now considering implementing it in the public lobbies.

We also considered making one more schedule, where we alternate between 2v2, 4v4 and 4v4, but I’m leaning towards 4v4 and staggered schedules to be more fair.

There are some players, who are allowed to leave their computer on and have it on automatically, which is great, but there are also many players who don’t. So we should be fair and make a list of players who left their computer on automatically and players who had to manually turn on their computer for this match. That’s why I’m looking for a nice and easy way to distinguish those players, preferably in the game itself, not the lobby.

I thought we could give players the option to make their CPU+GPU use 30-50% or 50-80%. So they have an option to turn on their computer (they can
