The story, brandished from the myth of the Tarnished, takes place in a world where a prophecy was made, “You alone will achieve the ultimate purpose and rules of life. They will be branded with the power of the Tarnished. However, the men of a tribe called the Elden, even though they possess the power of the Tarnished, have never set their minds on attaining it. And so, they were branded with the power as a curse, and were left in the lands called the Lands Between by the curse.

The Elden have cultivated their way of life to resemble the Elden tribe of mythology and raised their children in an environment where they enjoy life through play. At that time, the Tarnished power, which has resided within them since birth, awoke in them.

The lands between are bestowed with a curse. And so, the Elden of the Lands Between are suffering in a world where every morning, the prophecy is fulfilled and they are brutally dragged off in gangs, and their children are separated from them.

The Elden knows nothing about the Tarnished. Do they have any chance to rise again, and become the group that believed in the prophecy…?

Hajime Sakaguchi began his career as an illustrator with the magazine “Dengeki Works”, and ended up joining the staff of the Japanese action RPG publisher, Atlus USA. He was also the art director for the game “Hells Carnival Phantasm” and the character designer for the game “Heaven’s Memo Pad: Secret of Mana” (Working on this game was his first job as a character designer.)
