The open world role-playing game was announced this morning and it’s slated to launch on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices sometime in 2017.

Square Enix Europe, in collaboration with Silicon Studio and their development partner Xi3, today unveiled the Final Fantasy Explorers – Chapter 1: Splendido, an open world RPG from Final Fantasy coming exclusively to smartphones and tablets later this year.

The game is set to include classic Final Fantasy elements in a brand new adventure, in addition to the latest Final Fantasy-related innovations. To uncover all of the secrets of the land of Gransys and to reunite the heroes, players will need to uncover hidden treasures. For the first time, Final Fantasy fans can battle alongside a team of real-life allies for a campaign that will be entirely unlike anything previously seen in the franchise. Players can summon up to three real-life heroes to travel alongside them, bringing their unique skills to the battle and turning the tide in combat.

  Despite being a Dragon Ball Xenoverse review, this is one of those times where I’ll find an excuse to squeeze in a little bit of Marvel Legends.
