The Main Menu of this application is shown in

Clicking the tool icon will create a new “dyncompdict.dat” file, ready for use
by the application.
Clicking the pencil icon will edit the existing “dyncompdict.dat” file, allowing you to change existing
words, or add new words.

Clicking the file icon will display a list of all dictionaries and their contents.

There are two ways to use the dictionary.
Using the “Allow Mistyping” Check box, allows you to keep “typing” correct words, even though they are not
in the “dictionary”. I.e., they are “ambiguous”.
I.e., the following are both valid words, and would result in two entries in the
dictionary.

Note that the correct word in this case is the first one.
Using the “cautious” Check box, requires that you type “the” or “an” before a word before adding it to the dictionary.
You may choose to type in “the” or “an” yourself.
Clicking the “English Translation” link will display the english translation of the word.
Clicking the “Auto Complete” link will display autocomplete. (This is somewhat limited, but allows you to create words that are very long.)
I.e., if you are writing a mail, and have typed out the address:

Before you actually buy one of the downloads, read the comments on the first post in the second page of this thread. I just bought the one that was described as being there to try to ensure that someone did this. The company clearly does not support the program.

Hey, I’ve been reading all these posts, and I have a question: has anybody any experience with a PocketPC/Palm combo? Is it true that the PPC files for the PocketPC can’t be accessed by the PocketPC software? I’ve done some research on the web and found conflicting reports…. so would appreciate any feedback.

However, the list in the zip file will not work – it will only confuse the PPC, and annoy some users. It is merely used for data backup, and can safely be left out if you don’t want to download it.

There is a way to make the dictionary much smaller, though it removes some of the features of Word’s normal word completion and it may not cover your needs (or even work at all, which is why we have a beta). If you do wish to reduce the size of this file, do the following:

Remove the “dyncompdict.dat” file from the zip file.
Open up the list in Microsoft Word (under the “Language Codes” -> “Language Code File” menu), and copy all the items into a new document.
Close the document, and cut and paste the full list of item names into a new document.
Remove the items listed in “Language Code File” you don’t want by marking them with “=”.
Save the new document as “LanguageCode2.doc”, and try adding this new one.

I’ve downloaded MikkoPPc and the first thing I wanted was a word list (from any source) to use in Word 2003. I just want to add one from Wikipedia.
I’ve downloaded the zip file, unzipped it and opened the file…

I had to change the name of the file from LanguageCode.zip to LanguageCode2.zip and unzipped the file

I then opened the file and copied the text listed under “Language Code File” to a new document.

I then pasted the copied text from the new document to the “Definition List” under “Language Code”
