The city is posting online a list of 553 violations of Florida’s RICO laws that fine violators up to $10,000 and provide a list of possible fines for each type of violation. RICO is a federal statute that makes it illegal to conduct illegal business through organized crime.

Once a violation is posted on the city’s website, a city law enforcement official can decide to assess fines or provide other remedies, said Boucher.

According to a statement issued by the City of Vero Beach, the statute of limitations on forfeiture and other remedies expires in two years, after which the matter must be re-filed.

Boucher said that there is no record that the company has ever faced any fines or penalties for the alleged illegal sales.Banzai International
