Cannot run Maven Clean install for a Web Service Restful Web Service

I’m trying to run a clean install on a maven project. I created a package.xml file which was generated from my maven project, and run the command mvn clean install from command line on my maven project directory.
However when I run the command
mvn clean install

I get following error
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-clean-plugin:2.5:clean (default-clean) on project sri-web-service: Failed to clean project : Failed to delete /tmp/file-create: /tmp/file-create: Permission denied

I ran the same command on my other project which is not having this issue. I tried it on bash, Eclipse, CMD.
I also tried on Windows 8.1.

I was facing the same issue, found the solution after debugging.
The issue is, when using a windows machine it contains a.tmp folder.
This folder, if not removed before running the clean command, will be deleted by the clean command.
Please remove this folder before running the clean command.

A temporary file is often created in my project by the various build tools that I use. I have found that the easiest way to clear these out is to run the “Reset to Default” target in the “Junit > execute tests” section of the Eclipse run configuration.

Very similar problem to this, but the answer is to make sure that the.tmp folder is properly removed from the workspace. Even if there is nothing in it, the system still expects that the.tmp
