Also, isn’t usenetsearch.com more a search engine than a newsgroup service? Why is it in this forum?
You can edit the list of servers in the list at the top of the window. Just uncheck the checkbox and hit OK.

It looks like it has been released as I have used it for a while to connect with servers and no one else has been signed up to use it so far.
Please note there is no guarantee that the server you find isn’t owned by someone else (however if it is posted as free then it should be free to use).

Here’s a different look at the problem, and a piece of software that will help you find open news servers. I’ve had it up and running and working for a couple of days now. Not sure how many people are going to use it, but it’s still in beta, so at least you have an idea of the effort it is taking to make it work properly.

This is a web-based service, and if you want to use it, you will need a web browser, and a web server that can handle web requests (like Apache) – running on a VPS is a great choice for this.
