Autorunner is a small application for burnable CDs that extends the CD autorun feature to better support runing files with the autorun.inf file.
Note: Common misconception is that you can only run executeble files with autorun.inf file, but that is not true. Windows 98 and newer supports a shellexecute autorun.inf entry, which can be used to run any file type.

– Saves the autorun.inf menu entry so it does not have to be written back for every burning session. This saves on CD space if you are burning many autorun.inf files.
– Helps prevent the files from being deleted or overwritten. Normally users would select a file or drag it on the screen to start it. If this option is enabled, the autorun.inf entry is burned to the CD before any other media and will start when the media is inserted into a computer with the CD inserted. When the CD is ejected, the autorun.inf is no longer burned so users can then copy them to their harddrive or run the autorun.exe file on their machine.
Installation:
1. Unzip the Autorunner Product Key archives somewhere.
2. Run the autorun.reg file so it creates a DLL in your system32 directory.
3. Copy autorun.exe, autoruncommon.dll, autoruncommon.dll.orig, autoruncommon.dll.saved and autorun.ini to a folder on your harddrive.
4. Open up a text editor, make sure that the’read from the registry’ box is checked and create a file autorun.reg and paste the following:
[autorun]

Command = C:\autorunner\autorun.exe
Options = /autoRun
5. Execute the autorun.reg file to create the.dat file that stores the autorun.inf.
6. Create a menu entry on your desktop for the autorun.inf file, for example “autorun.inf”.
7. Right click the autorun.inf entry on the Desktop and select Copy.
8. Select the autorun.exe in the folder created in the previous step and drag to the desktop.
9. Select the autorun.exe icon on the desktop and select Properties.
10. Select the ‘Open With’ tab, select ‘Armin Depictive VNC View

Autorunner Configuration File
The configuration file is located at C:\autorunner.cfg. The configuration file contains the following configuration items and can be edited by hand.
If you change any of the configuration file, please make sure that the following settings are present.

What’s New In Autorunner?
Autorunner auto runs a given autorun.inf file by pressing enter when the window pops up. The autorun.inf file contains a single line:

The Path of the file to run is in quotes. The file(s) to be run can be separated by the period(s), just like in autorun.inf.
