KeyMACRO (KMR) is a freeware, small, feature-packed plug-in keyboard macro recorder/tracker, utility to record and edit key macros and assign them to hotkeys. The program records hotkeys presses to create key macros.
The user may select the default key combination, and change the combination at will. The key combination may consist of any combination of the letters (A-Z) or numbers (0-9) plus some modifier keys.
KeyMACRO provides a number of other useful features:
• Drag-and-drop key-stroke recording to edit: keystrokes may be dragged to the hot-key field and added to the hotkey list.
• Full ASCII characters can be used to create hotkey combos.
• Dired-style list of hotkeys may be created, allowing for the quick launching of files or applications from the list.

It consists of two components:
– Klepto lua and klepto.lua for extending the Lua engine, and building GUI widgets
– KLEPTO, a binary component for generating and building GUI widgets
Why use Klepto?
Klepto can save a lot of time and effort for those who need to build GUIs in Lua, and does so in a way that’s extremely similar to the old fashion GUI paradigm that we are used to in desktop applications.
The difference between the old and new is that the older GUIs were done in an object-oriented way, so it’s important to know how object-oriented programming works, before starting to use Klepto.
